Dr. Kinney asked for input and edit suggestions, the definition of a student must go up to shared governance for approval.
Committee will receive document of definition of student where edits/suggestions can be made.

Jim Boullosa conducted a training on Student Rights and Responsibilities for the Male Leadership program on October 10th, 2019. Patty Zuniga gave the committee updates on trainings that are being held (Student Complaints Process, and Overview of Student Rights and Responsibilities trainings). Due to high enrollment, an additional training date/location was added for November 15th, 2019 from 9:30 – 11:00 am at EVC more information can be found on the professional development website. A form has been created for those who would like to request a presentation on Student Standards of Conduct, Managing Disruptive Students in the Classroom, and Student Rights and Responsibilities.

Minors on Campus

Dr. Kinney updated the committee on where the issue of Minors on Campus stood. Received various feedback from committee members, to not only include High School students but also those of school age that may attend summer programs at ACC.
Committee tabled the subject for one more meeting in hopes that another committee will be created to address the issue of Minors on Campus.

Proposed Guidelines for Non-Grade Related Academic Student Complaints

SR&R discussed the verbiage of the guidelines and expressed their suggestions. Dr. Kinney informed committee that they would be receiving a document where they are able to input comments and questions regarding the agenda item. That document will be shared to ASAC for discussion.
Committee will receive a document where they can input comments and questions regarding the proposed guidelines for non-grade related academic student complaints.
