Description
Changes in ENGL 2342

The Texas Coordinating Board has eliminated ENGL 2342 (Forms in Literature) from their approved list of courses as of August '19, resulting in colleges no longer being able to offer it. ENGL 2342 is being removed from the schedule and replaced with one of the literature classes that will satisfy the English requirement at all Texas colleges (World Lit 1 and 2, American Lit 1 and 2 , Brit Lit 1 and 2).

NCBR tutors for some ENGL 1301 students

Some students in ENGL 1301 who fall slightly below required reading scores to take college level English will have NCBR (non-course based remediation) tutors. Faculty who have these student in their ENGL 1301 will be notified of the student's status by their tutor.

Anne-Marie Thomas announced that Brain-fuse is no longer available as a tutoring resource for students. A new online platform to assist online students may be approved by Sept.30. New tutors will be available to assist online students in the Fall.

Susan Meigs announced an Open House at HLC Learning Lab on Sept. 21 from 2-4. All faculty are invited and refreshments will be available.

Minutes
Rebekah Starnes announced the development of a Digital Repository for teaching resources, papers, anything that would assist faculty in their classes. A sign-up sheet was distributed for those interested in participating or faculty can contact Rebekah for more information.
