Faculty representation proposal review
Presenter
Steve
Minutes
ASAC’s concern regarding the proposed recommended changes to the CAC representation.
Proposed Changes
Faculty Developmental Mathematics and Developmental Communication - change
to Instructional Dean
Faculty Developmental ESL - change to Full-Time Faculty Senate
Current Representation
We have five (5) classroom teaching positions:
•Two (2) Full-Time faculty positions
•Three (3) association positions
How should the additional faculty seats be represented?
Should the representative be designated by Position or Association?
We recommend that our previous recommendation to ASAC be maintained specifically that two Instructional Deans be assigned to this committee.
Motion to remain same: Deborah Femat
Second: Ginger Bennett
Motion approved unanimously

Minutes
Background
Student with a disability indicates interest in participating in a program. The dynamic of the first person who is different from everyone entering the program, evoked questions among instructors’ regarding technical standards, internships/clinical placements, certification exams and training and employment limitations or concerns.
ADA Requirements
Under legal framework ADA, ACC is a teaching and learning facility and we cannot deny access of students with disabilities to our programs based on what we think they can do in the employment arena.
