Discussion: - INRW0420/Humanities 1301 Coreq is a pilot to accelerate intermediate reading and writing skill students to college readiness in one semester. Currently, the target students are those who fall within the INRW0420 Placement Range located on the September 2021 Placement chart. The rigorous curriculum requires small section sizes; INRW 0420 capped at 10 and Humanities 1301 capped at 20. In addition to the small section sizes, the pilot has embedded student advocates and a tutor to assist faculty in fostering student success.

1) Grammar 2, ESOL 0396 is now a prerequisite/co-requisite for Writing 2, ESOL 0372. Previously, the prerequisite for Writing 2 was Grammar 1 but we changed it this month to Grammar 2 because many students in Writing 2 did not have sufficient grammar knowledge and editing skills to do well in Writing 2.
2) Intensive Grammar, ESOL 0393 is no longer a prerequisite for Writing 4, ESOL 0374. Intensive Grammar was an elective that made sense when writing and grammar courses were combined but is redundant now that we have independent grammar classes. Intensive Grammar will not be offered in future semesters.

Presented to the committee the directive to review the on-campus testing exceptions list to determine if those courses can remain or to open the request again for new requests.
The Committee will also review the current guidelines and determine if any changes need to be made.
