There was further discussion on the curriculum: changing EDUC 1300 OR PHIL 2306 course option by removing PHIL 2306 and adding footnote that allows students who do not need a success course the option to select HUMA 1301 or another course from the Language Philosophy and Culture component area; and making PHIL 2306 a required course instead. Also discussed was adding footnotes to allow more flexibility for students, such as allowing a higher level Math course (such as Calculus) and expanding the two History courses to include selecting any two from the American History component area. Also noted was that Biology 1309 was listed twice with the Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy course options; it was suggested to change to Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy or Biology with a footnote to select one of those courses from the Life and Physical Sciences component area. Lisa Marie Coppoletta motioned to approve with amendments (summarized below). Ron seconded. Approved. 1) Add success course footnote to EDUC 1300 that includes option to take HUMA 1301 or another course from the Language, Philosophy, and Culture component area. 2) Add footnote to the MATH course options allowing for a higher level Math course. 3) Replace BIOL 1309 so the Life and Physical Sciences course options become Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy or Biology. 4) Replace the Language, Philosophy, and Culture course option with required course PHIL 2306 Ethics. 5) Add footnotes to HIST 1301 and HIST 1302 to include the option to select any two courses from the American History component area.
