•Agenda item moved to next meeting. •Concerns that Blg. G and other facilities at RVS are not fully accessible. •Steve: Compliance is the base of what is considered accessible and useable for people with disabilities, not just ADA guidelines. They form ‘minimum standards’ for compliance. •The campus was built before ADA was passed. As we remodel, the building will have to become ADA-compliant. •Mike Garcia: ADA compliance is considered in all ACC building and renovation projects.

•. The need for more oversight of web accessibility and the accessibility of Electronic Information Resources. o. There is difficulty in a topic that extends into most areas of the college, but the main discussion was about web accessibility and the purchasing of digital resources. o Dr. Helms admitted could use more concrete procedures when it comes to web accessibility testing in the IT processes. o. Sean - we needed a position in IT whose focus was accessibility, Higher level executives should have some knowledge and experience with accessibility. o. Mike Garcia: Identify the gatekeepers and ensure their processes include checks on accessibility. o We can model the accessibility after Mike’s safety-checking procedures. A fantastic model to follow for the accessibility piece. o Andy Kim (rFacilities): having someone at the front end of the purchasing process. o Steve: Purchasing could be the gatekeeper, but does not have staff with sufficient knowledge about ADA compliance and accessibility. Steve will talk to the VC of Business Services
