Modify Awards - catalog 2023-24 corrections already processed Agriculture Science AS – removed optional lab course AGRI 1107 that was incorrectly listed as a course option to AGRI 1307 in Semester II and updated accompanying note: “AGRI 1107 is an optional lab course that accompanies AGRI 1307. Students interested in pursuing undergraduate research are encouraged to co-enroll in AGRI 1107.” Sustainable Agriculture AAS – correction resulted from adding AGCR 2418 as a prerequisite to AGCR 2313 approved at the January 20, 2023 Curriculum & Programs Committee meeting: switched AGCR 2313 in Semester II with AGCR 2418 in Semester III. 1. Status of updated Core Curriculum Course List for Catalog 2023-24: THECB approved addition of GOVT 2311 to subject areas Social & Behavioral Sciences (Code 080) and Component Area Option (Code 090) (Ron Johns) Due to an issue with THECB’s communication system, there was no official notification that GOVT 2311 was approved; however after periodically checking THECB's Texas Core Curriculum (TCC) site, it was discovered in late May that this course had been added. Ron followed up and contacted THECB who verified that it was officially approved. 2. Discussion on Low Producing Programs (Daniel Chupe-O'Hanlon) Daniel referenced the March 2022 List of Low Producing Programs report that identified International Business AAS as a low producing program. Gretchen will follow-up with Lorlie Ellis (Dean, Business) and George Frederickson (Department Chair, International Business) on what action, if any, was taken. 3. Discussion on Curriculum and Programs Committee members designating a """"permanent proxy"""" OR """"or designee"""" and fulfilling shared governance expectation There was discussion on three options that non-voting members could choose if they wish to designate someone to represent them: 1) Permanently; 2) Annually; or 3) Officially through the Shared Governance process by submitting a proposal to the Academic & Student Affairs Council. Designating a representative annually seemed to have the most support. It was also noted that designating a “proxy” would be more accurate when referring to voting members and designating a “representative” would be for non-voting members. The Chair requested that this item return for further discussion at the September Curriculum and Programs Committee meeting. 4. Minutes – March 24, 2023 (See Draft) Victoria Taylor motioned to approve; seconded by Cathy Angell. Approved. 5. That’s a wrap…for AY 2023! The C&P Committee will not meet in July or August.
