ECS-only course sections need to be flagged in Colleague so that they will be imported correctly into eStaffing. eStaffing seems to be setup properly to handle ECS course sections with ECS course eligibility. However, the AFA is considering sponsoring a proposal to have a third round of eStaffing that would be specific to ECS course sections only.

Summer 2015 eStaffing Compliance Report

A draft of the report was presented. There were a few instances of departments staffing one or both phases using eStaffing, but not finishing the cycle. It is thought that the likelihood is that the department chair (or admin) completed the assignments for all faculty that submitted preferences, but did not go cycle through the remaining faculty. The Committee asked Andrew to contact the Deans to verify this.

A few comments/suggestions were made: There should be an email 'nag' feature for Deans to do approvals. There was an initial problem with reserving course sections, but that was quickly fixed. There was a question about the open window for performing re-assignments. A request for the eStaffing url to be added to all of the email reminders was made. The email alert re: Acceptance/Rejection phase did not exclude those who were not assigned course sections.

There were reports that a couple of adjuncts either submitted their MSTA application but were unsure if it was actually submitted or thought they successfully submitted their MSTA application, but the system did not record the submittal. This generated the request that the system be enhanced to have an 'Are you sure?' button, along with a Confirmation message when the application was successful.

Fall 2015 eStaffing Preview

Preview items centered around fixing the bug that failed to exclude adjuncts that were not assigned sections from receiving the Acceptance/Rejection window email alerts, and trying to find ways of ensuring that Deans and Department Chairs completed the Appointments and Course Eligibility approvals before the start of eStaffing. There was also a request to include functionality informing adjuncts that certain ECS course sections will require the instructor to be finger-printed. Currently the schools that require this are Leander and Lake Travis. (The request was too late to be implemented for Fall 2015 eStaffing.)
