1. Welcome! Review of Structure, Functions, and Membership of C&P to date (Co-Chairs Gaye Lynn Scott and Gretchen Riehl) 2. C&P Minutes – June 24, 2022 Victoria Taylor motioned to approve; seconded by Brandon Whatley. Approved. 3. THECB Guidelines for Instructional Programs in Workforce Education (GIPWE) Updates • The GIPWE 2015 was updated August 8, 2022 to allow students to be paid for internships and clinicals in the health sciences areas Informational item. 4. Badging Update (Susan Thomason) Susie provided some background and the big picture on badging of credentials (marketable skills). Digital badges were mentioned at the General Assembly as part of ACC’s QEP on Digital Fluency. There was discussion on marketing and adaptability; also could leverage elements of gamification to promote badges. It was agreed that guidelines need to be developed and a process developed on reviewing and approving the badging of credentials, as well as need to define how the C&P Committee can support badging. Victoria Taylor volunteered to serve on a subcommittee. Lisa Marie Coppoletta lends her support and volunteered to serve on a subcommittee. Presenter Curtis Eckerman mentioned that academic programs can benefit, such as Biology, as well as identifying Service-Leaning credentials. Gretchen volunteered to lead a subcommittee. Those who are interested in serving need to email Gretchen and her EA Todd Johnson by next Friday, September 30th, along with any names of non-committee members that might have an interest, such as in the Health Sciences and Continuing Education programs; at least 6 to 8 members should serve. Jorge Lynch motioned to approve developing a subcommittee; seconded by Lisa Marie Coppoletta. Approved.

CATALOG 2022-2023 FOS CLEANUP, Effective Fall 2022: Revise Awards – Per SACSCOC: need to add missing General Education requirement from Language, Philosophy, and Culture OR Creative Arts Component Areas in Engineering AS Field of Studies award plans Chemical Engineering AS – replacing ENGL 1302 with PHIL 2306 and removing note in Semester II Civil Engineering AS – replacing ENGL 1302 OR ENGL 2311 with PHIL 2306 and removing note in Semester II Mechanical Engineering AS – replacing ENGL 1302 OR ENGL 2311 with PHIL 2306, removing note, and replacing ENGR 1304 with ECON 2301 in Semester II Ron also discovered an additional edit that was overlooked: in the Electrical Engineering AS: the footnote for PHIL 2306 states to take a course from the Component Area option instead of the Language, Philosophy, and Culture Component Area; technically someone could avoid taking a Humanities course.
