Add NEW Course – Effective Summer 2024 CTMT 1391 Special Topics in Computed Tomography Technology/Technician (3-3-0) – with one topic course: Computed Tomography Registry Review; adding to meet community needs for a fast-track credentialing review for computed tomography technologists for area hospitals and clinics. Department worked on this course as a CE course only to find out the accrediting body will only allow the course to be offered as a credit course. Financial aid concerns were raised. It is a grant funded course paid by the hospital so there is no out of pocket or FA concerns for the students. Also, this is a petition only course so only specific students can register. HCC created a similar course. HCA reached out to ACC for help in creating the course because they are not happy with HCC’s outcomes. Motion: Jorge Lynch moved to approve on the condition that Dr. Knight checks with Dr. Scott to make sure it doesn’t violate any accrediting rules for ACC.
