Update on faculty evaluation process
Presenter
Theresa Glenn and Marcus McGuff
Minutes
The faculty evaluation working group is focusing on looking through an equity lens and reducing inherent bias. They are also working on designing and drafting an exemplary teaching statement and identifying teaching dimensions. Student course evaluation questions will have actionable feedback from students. The evaluation will have college and department wide questions as well as modality questions. Future steps include focus groups with students. They will hire a consultant to help with psychometric questions to focus on the student experience not on measuring the intent of the professor.
Decision/Action: Notify Larry Stephens to serve as a reviewer or to participate with the evaluation working group. Theresa will send documents for review to be shared with the committee. A draft of the evaluation could be available by February.
