Approved. Revising Awards – replacing some DRTE courses with Restricted Elective course options to assist with mapping Technical Theater Teaching Level 1 certificate to a specific Technical Theater AAS degree Technical Theater - Makeup Artistry and Costume Technology Specialization AAS Technical Theater - Scenic Construction, Lighting, and Media Technology Specialization AAS Discussion on the addition of FSHD 2306 Draping to the Restricted Elective course options; Victoria Taylor, Department Chair of Fashion Design is adding a prerequisite to this course. Stephanie will remove FSHD Draping from Restricted Elective for the time being and will revisit adding it with the prerequisite later. Discussion on HUMA 1315: it was suggested to add HUMA 1301 Great Questions Seminar topic to the footnote “or choose from another course in the Component Option 090 Core Curriculum Course List.” Jorge Lynch motioned to approve with edits to remove FSHD 2306 from the list of Restricted Elective courses and to add HUMA 1301 Great Questions Seminar to HUMA 1315 course options; Johnathan Buckstead seconded. Modify Courses ARTS 2316 Painting I (3-2-4) – adding topic: Honors Painting I ARTS 2317 Painting II (3-2-4) – adding topic: Honors Painting II Roberta: these courses have been offering an Honors section for years; she is officially adding Honors Painting I and II topics to the curriculum and to the catalog. Realignment – Administrative Structure Realign the Journalism department under the Communication Studies program; currently aligned to the chair of the English department, which no longer exists in that form (replaced by the department of Composition and Literary Studies) Discussion: this is a clean-up following the English department being restructured to encompass Composition and Literary Studies, including Integrated Reading-Writing (INRW) courses. The Journalism department will move from reporting to English Department Chair Wendy Lym to the Communications Department Chair Risé Lara; Paul Brown Assistant Department Chair will remain overseeing the Journalism program.
