Dr. Gaye Lynn Scott, AVP for Academic Programs attended our meeting to greet us and explain her role as Associate Vice-President.
Corey Greathouse was introduced as newest full-time faculty member in the English Department. Corey will be at RRC and has taught at ACC for 5 years in both the English Department and Dev. Writing Department. He is a graduate of Huston-Tillotson and Texas State and has taught at Huston-Tillotson, Concordia and has worked at Texas State.
Fall '17 and Spring '18 scheduling for full-time faculty will begin early in Spring '17 semester.
Rio Grande campus will close at end of the Spring '17 semester but additional classes at other campuses have been added to compensate for classes normally scheduled at RGC.
Distance Learning sections no longer require additional office hours. One on-site office hour is required for each DL class taught, the same as in-class sections.
Guidelines for Tutors will be mailed to faculty in a few weeks for their review.

The revised Literature master syllabus, reviewed by the Literature Review Committee chaired by Paula Robertson-Rose, was unanimously approved. The revised master syllabus has a new font and is organized with information most relevant to students at beginning of syllabus. The revised syllabus will be in effect for Fall '17 and will be on Department website in late Summer '17.

Minutes
Dean Lyman Grant discussed a project he is initiating to document ACC's commitment to literacy education. His goal is to write a report on how various offices and departments support literacy from Adult Education, Through Developmental Education to college credit classes, such as sophomore literature, technical writing and creative writing. He asked faculty members who have worked on literacy issues to contact him if they would like to contribute.

Early Intervention Initiative

Minutes
Sean Nighbert presented information on a Student Progress system to give early alerts for at-risk students. Faculty will receive a survey where they can indicate what they do to intervene in classrooms when a student is experiencing difficulties. The survey will assist in creating a formal intervention and early alert system.
