Mike and Pat introduced background on the development of the new four-year nursing award planned for implementation fall 2018. Health care programs are moving toward four-year awards across the nation. State legislation permits two-year colleges to apply for up to three bachelors award programs; this is ACC’s first. This program is well supported by hospital administration and legislator delegations. Program competencies are well documented. The program will serve 7,000 students in our service area. Students will be practicing nurses with priority given to ACC graduates. Program will be presented to ACC Board of Trustees on December 4, 2017. ACC will continue offering the two-year associate degree nursing program.
