Presenter
Melissa Curtis
Minutes
Headcount as of today is 24,130. This number is 9.6% lower that 2019 at this time. The numbers are a little hard to compare because of the delay in registration starting by 2 weeks in 2020. New student numbers are down 19.4%. Continuing students down 8%. High school dual credit expected to be down for spring as typical for many high school seniors opting out to take a college course in the spring semester. Local ISDs are seeing a 60% increase in failing grade for students. ACC is watching to make sure students are on track and supported during this stressful times for students.

Presenter
Susan Gusler
Minutes
The plan has been approved by the EOC and is activated as of tomorrow. The first appointments for Adult Education application assistance will be tomorrow at HLC. Practice runs occurred today and staff feels confident that they can safely provide application support for prospective students. It takes about 45 minutes for an applicant to complete an application in Salesforce. Teams will be using shared screen technology to guide and assist applicants. Staff has volunteered to work the stations at RVS, RRC, and HLC. Adult Education will do phone call application appointment setting, while TRAD and CE will use calendly. CE are working on plans to handle paper document needs.

ESOL Updates
Presenter
Shannon Bailey
Minutes
Many good suggestion were offered by the ESOL department to guide students to needed ESOL testing and services. Ideas were discussed to add ESOL to the front end of the application process and within the application process. Additions were suggested for the Admissions webpage, Enrollment Steps process, and adding a check box within the application if a student wanted assistance with language proficiency. Suggested the ESOL testing be officered before directing all students to the TSI. Need a student need based approach instead of imposing the college's need or format on the student. ESOL numbers have been falling steadily over the past 5 years and concerned students are getting lost in the application process by a language barrier. Many ESOL students enter the college via the continuing education route, because it is easier. Less paperwork and documentation needs. Concern is that CE does not provide as much financial aid support that credit routes provide. Need to link in the credit courses as this students are transitioned through the enrollment process. Reference sheets were provided for the advising teams to use to guide ESOL student prospects. Planning to look at how other colleges infused the ESOL offerings into their processes as examples for change at ACC.

Academic Master Plan - Fast Track Enrollment & Welcome Center Planning
Presenter
Melissa Curtis
Minutes
Discussions were presented on two programs within the Academic Master Plan. 1. Fast track enrollment is being considered now and planned out as ACC processes change with Salesforce. Once students are already in the system as CE and AE, it will be seamless to transition them to credit courses to continue the higher education experience. The three programs will collaborate for student success. ESOL will also be a good partner in this process of retaining students in various programs and course offerings. 2. Welcome Center planning is underway as well. A one stop shop or one front door concept to offer prospective students a full range of services in one spot. Hence, the services come to student. Will be a collaborative space with all parts of the college available to assist and guide the student to fulfill the need. Will be a space at 3 locations that will provide resources, opportunities, from all college services from AE, CE, Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Enrollment, ESOL, Testing, Student Support Services, etc. In the early planning stage now with new workgroup started next week. Looking at the Amarillo College welcome center model.
