Informational: High School Application – Update
Erica Ervin
The high school application did not have a drop-down option for “GED” to be selected. As of 3-30-2023, this option has been added and can now be selected. It has been divided into “Texas” and “Out of State”.
There are already three applicants that have used the new option.

Testing Centers – Behavior that does not fall under student conduct
Holly Delacroix-DeRouen
Sleeping during testing time – how do you handle that? Does a policy need to be in place? L. Orlando thinks it should be addressed. Sleeping in a testing center during a test needs to be addressed differently than sleeping in just a normal classroom environment. H. Delacroix-DeRouen stated how the pre-testing agreement form is already long and extensive with hopes of covering all issues/situations. It is questionable if students even read most of the form before signing off on it. Does this need to be added to the testing center’s requirements? W. Bradfute reminded others “snoring” is considered disruptive, so “sleeping during testing time” would perhaps fall under the Student Rights & Responsibilities-Standards of Conduct.

Testing Centers – Policy & New Proposal for Bathroom Breaks
Holly Delacroix-DeRouen
Discuss & Propose Guidelines – Testing Center Guidelines need to be updated. There are instances where students ask for bathroom break even during a one-hour test session. She does not want to allow bathroom breaks once the student starts the test. WHERE can an updated policy be added? A. Dawson pointed out - students leaving the room for a bathroom break opens up opportunity for cheating. L. Orlando wants to make sure this topic can be discussed with other faculty and time is allowed to think about different opinions/options. P. Chu asked the question is there a law/requirement that states a student must be allowed a bathroom break? R. Royalty suggested a survey be sent out and review the responses and ideas. H. Delacroix-DeRouen said students are informed and agree to the rules before they start the test. The different testing center locations have different rules concerning bathroom breaks. All agree there needs to be consistent guidelines implemented.
