The Board reviewed all items on the TCOLE's rules regarding advisory board requirements; Articles 215.1, 215.6, 215.7, and 215.9 as follows: 1) Establish and maintain an advisory board. 2) Advisory board make-up. [Advisory Board List provided, Rule 215.7] 3) Election of chairperson. [See term limits] 4) Meetings & Minutes. [Copy of last nine years provided] 5) Advisement on: A) Curriculum. B) Commission rules. C) Training needs and types. D) Frequency and location of courses. E) Standards of admissions. [TCOLE Rule 217.1] F) Prerequisites, minimum and maximum class size. G) Attendance [sign-in sheets] instructors and retention of students. Discuss Three Comprehensive Exam Failures Policy in CJLE 2424 Capstone

Discussed TCOLE rule for course CJLE 2424 Capstone. Standard of passing is 90% on the comprehensive exam. Students are allowed to retake the exam a 2nd and if necessary, a 3rd time. Discussion on student failures in following skills listed below for CJLE 2522 Skills. 1) SFST Practical 2) Firearms - Shotgun and Handgun 3) Driving Skills 4) Traffic Stops - Standard and High Risk 5) Handcuffing 6) Defensive Tactics - Hands On 7) Defensive Baton Discussion to adopt language in Course Syllabus addressing Pass/Fail skills policy for CJLE 2522 Texas Peace Officer Skills. Students must pass all listed skills with no modifications to successfully complete the course. Discuss Student Failures of Required Psychological, Physical, Drug Screen Examinations

Discussed if a student is able to reapply to the program when they fail the Licensee Medical Condition Declaration (L-2) or the Licensee Psychological and Emotional Health Declaration (L-3). Research, gather data and legal aspects for specific standards from other agencies to be discussed at the next meeting. Action: Motion for students applying to the program must have valid evaluations signed off on L-2 and L-3 forms.
