This is a typo only in the proposal; ARTV 1402 was verified correct in catalog 2020-21. Norma also stated that the students will get introduced to health care statistics in the HITT 2343 course. Additionally, the Committee suggested a note be added to the HPRS 1106 course that HPRS 1206 is an option; Norma agreed - the Credit Hour range will need to be adjusted, along with Semester I and award plan totals. Returning from January 22, 2021 C&P Meeting Add NEW Awards – new program CIP 03.0601: Wildlife, Fish and Wildlands Science and Management Wildlife Conservation and Management AAS - 60 Total SCH Wildlife Conservation and Management Level 2 Certificate - 31 Total SCH Environmental Science and Technology Enhanced Skills Certificate (Level 3) – 14 SCH Per GIPWE: exceeds 12 SCH max. Committee recommended taking out ‘WMGT 2359 Wildlife Propagation Handling and Management OR WMGT 1300 Wildlife Preserve Management’; Mark agreed. Also it needs to be under a different CIP program than the Wildlife Conservation and Management award since courses must be an extension of an AAS, not duplicated in the award. Mark agreed that it can be assigned the CIP that aligns with the current transfer AS in Environmental Studies (03.0104). Summary of Changes from 1/22/21 proposal: 1. Added the student interest survey 2. Updated the budget to include a full-time faculty hire 3. Included a position description 4. Corrected language describing opportunities (connections) for students to pursue bachelor or applied science in Wildlife Sciences 5. Added an updated minimum credentials table 6. Corrected acronym ACGR to AGCR 7. Modified the Enhanced Skills Level 3 Certificate in Wildlife Management to a Level 3 Certificate in Environmental Science and Technology - which is significantly different from the degree and accomplishes the original intent to offer skills training for those in that program. Revise Award – returning from January 22, 2021 C&P Meeting Dance AA – removing Speech course as EDUC option (opening up to any component area course for students who have successfully completed 12 college credits); replacing MATH 1324 with MATH 1332; and updating Career Information with current data Discussion on additional updates requested from January 22, 2021 Curriculum and Programs Committee meeting: 1. Removing the Speech option from EDUC-1300 Strategies for College Success; clarifying language in the footnote indicating that students with more than 12 college credits may select any component area core curriculum course (including speech) in place of the college success course. 2. Recommending students to take MATH-1332 Contemporary Math instead of MATH-1324 Math for Business & Economics because out of our transfer institutions, only A&M requires MATH-1324, and it is significantly more difficult than Contemporary Math. Any Math course will also be accepted. Additionally: 3. Updating the Career Information section of the program map with current facts and figures. Committee asked if the Natural Sciences courses in the award plan should also provide students the option to choose from the Life and Physical Sciences section of the Core. Revise Award – returning from January 22, 2021 C&P Meeting Creative Writing AA – adding a second Speech option; clarifying advising notes (footnotes in award plan); resequencing courses Tom provided a summary of the footnotes that were expanded/revised to include the option to select from the Core and the addition of SPCH 1311 as an alternate to SPCH 1315. Also some courses were re-sequenced. Tomi Welch motioned to approve all updates; Johnathan Buckstead seconded. Approved.

Revise Award Electrical Engineering AS – adding advising note to COSC 1320 in Semester III: ‘Select from the following courses: COSC 1320, COSC 1337 or ENGR 2304’ Add NEW Course ENGR 2304 Programming for Engineers (3-2-4) – new course focuses on Programming principles for engineers; adding to Electrical Engineering AS. Modify Course ENGR 1201 Introduction to Engineering (2-2-0) – changing hours to 2-2-2: adding 2 lab hours and increasing contact hours to ACGM maximum of 64; adding $50 course fee; replacing trigonometry requirement in prerequisites with MATH 1314 or equivalent; and adding Student Outcomes and Objectives from ACGM Note: Per 2/26/21 email from David Fonken and then later discussed by Joe in the C&P meeting, prerequisite should be MATH 1414 College Algebra for Precalculus Joe provided more of an explanation about the prerequisite for ENGR 1201: is should be MATH 1414 since students need a higher level math course in the Engineering program. New course ENGR 1201 is being added as an option to COSC 1320, along with COSC 1337. The Committee discussed COSC 1320, which is currently not being scheduled. Joe will work with Mary Kohls to schedule this course because it needs to remain as the primary course in this award plan. Also discussed was why ENGR 2304 was being added to the COSC course options. It was agreed that it would be added as an option to ENGR 1201 but must have department approval to enroll (will add petition requirement to new course record); the credit hour range will need to be changed to ‘2-3’, Semester I total hours will need to be changed to ’15-16’, and total award hours need to be changed to ‘60-61’. The Committee also discovered that HIST 1302 is listed twice in the award plan; HIST 1302 in Semester III needs to be corrected to HIST 1301 and the note will need to be revised to apply to US History I, similar to other award plans. Committee mentioned that the ‘Credit Hours’ range to the Restricted Electives is 1-3 - will need to update to 1-4, as well as update the Semester Total Credit Hours and Program Total Credit Hours ranges.
