Diagnostic Medical Imaging – Radiology Add NEW Course – Effective Summer 2024: Follow up from March 22, 2024 C&P Meeting CTMT 1391 Special Topics in Computed Tomography Technology/Technician (3-3-0) – with one topic course: Computed Tomography Registry Review; adding to meet community needs for a fast-track credentialing review for computed tomography technologists for area hospitals and clinics Presented and conditionally approved at March 22, 2024 Curriculum and Programs Committee meeting: This course will be a standalone course/not part of an award; it is granted funded and will be a petition only course. Elizabeth checked with VC Gaye Lynn to verify that a standalone course is permissible. It was confirmed that there are a limited number of instances when this is acceptable with the caveat that it is petition only, for a specific need, and would not have implications for Financial Aid.

The hours are too large. THECB requires Level 1 certificates to be below 770 (?) hours. Lisa Brown stated there are state mandated testing requirements after the coursework portion before a student can move forward to the Pathway Certificate. All students have a BA before entering the program. Concerns were raised that the THECB will deny the request and the division needs to have an alternative path forward if that happens. Motion: Cathy Angel motioned with the stipulation that if it is denied the division will have an alternative plan. Second: Matthew Daude Motion Approved 15 Yes/0 No/7 Abstain CE Occupational Skills Development – CIP Code 32.0111 (Christine Price) STEPS Workplace Readiness CE Level 1 Certificate, 480 total hours – converting three stackable CE OSAs to one program Certificate Level 1 Certificate: 1) Steps: Occupational Skills Development OSA (CIP Code 44.000); 2) Steps: Preparing for College and the Workplace OSA (CIP Code 44.000, non-reportable due to DEVR-8001 course); and 3) Steps: Workplace Readiness OSA (CIP Code 44.000). Program is expiring three OSAs. Program grew during the pandemic so it is harder to track the different OSAs so needs to simplify.
