SAA: - Next step in maturing: Develop faculty handbook. - We need feedback on the first 11 pages. Input on what chairs/deans should be doing. What they need to do during the Program Cycle. SAA to Marvy Reyes: During crisis. Faculty would not response on spot with proper guidance. MR: To prepare proper the handbook should include crisis and safety response. Karen Bell: Address parents in this document. SAA: It includes notes on FERPA, HIPAA, tips on what to do when dealing with parents. Judy Nwachie: Something to be added on the page #4. SAA: Insurance review on coverage currently, what else IP can provide? -Difference between adjunct and full-time coverage. SAA: Crisis scenarios addressed, but is there a specific incident to be included additionally. -Mental health issues, ie, cultural shock, depression, self-harm. -ACC has no mental health services on campus, unlike a 4-year. -what to do about addressing mental health issues. MR: How to handle death, injury, discussing processes to be in place. JN: Medication/prescriptions SAA: We will add that into the document. MR: Add application/admissions process.

SAA:- Students need more time for saving money. - Create more sustainable programs. -Roster will be firm in August. JN: What about adjuncts and courses not guaranteed? SAA: Commitment, a primary leader designated on proposal: That class will be put into table of classes. there will be enough money to supplement class minimum requirements. -Number of students is based on what faculty can handle (between 13-17 students per faculty). KB: Proposal Process: Deadline for Proposals is July 25/2011. MR: Be more direct with some of the language. SAA: Academic leader will be required to do what is described= non-negotiable. MR: Set it up as a table/checklist JN: What does: \'\'find an appropriate model mean?\'\' SAA: If can not agree to a duty, find a solution (ie, 3rd pp, partnership) SAA:Mike wants milestones indicated so, broke down by month, by faculty, chairs and deans. -Deans and chairs need to be involved to make sure academics are fulfilled. KB: Can students from other universities apply? SAA: Do we need to look out student participation and setting limitations? -A lot of ACC students have been restricted on type of student that can apply. Do we want to get more restrictive? MH: Define expectations through criteria. Carol Duss: Maintain program integrity. SAA: Minimum GPA? Students with lower GPAs do poorly at times? MR: Have a semester record. SAA:Should we be more restrictive? Group: No. SAA: Accompanying persons on program. (travel with the group). i.e. children, spouses, etc. SAA: Legal issues: Is it appropriate to have family members go along on program? No. (group) SAA: 24/7 responsibility, can not be a distraction. ACC will not cover spouses/children. MR: Ok if they are faculty/staff. KB: How about accompanying students? SAA: Students do not have opportunity to deviate from the program schedule and parents can not participate in those schedule activities. Important to set boundaries when it comes to free time. SAA: Faculty will interview applicants.
