Gaye Lynn Scott moved to accept the revised statement on General Education for the 2012-13 ACC Catalog: \'\'General Education The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC) requires colleges and universities to incorporate into each degree plan 15 hours in general education courses. The component of general education courses must include at least one course from each of the following areas: humanities/fine arts, social/behavioral sciences, and natural sciences/ mathematics. The courses must be designed to ensure breadth of knowledge and must not be narrowly focused on those skills, techniques, and procedures specific to a particular occupation or profession. General Education Course List Associate of Applied Science students must select general education courses from the core curriculum listing in the areas indicated below. Students must earn 3 credits in each area. A glossary will be added to include terms from the Curriculum Management System forms. Members will continue to submit edits to Charles Quinn.
