Updated status on the demographics of the PTA applicants and the effects of the revised admission criteria on student retention from Fall 1 to Spring 1.

APTA is conducting a feasibility study to determine whether or not the PTA degree should be a BS instead of the AAS.

Program is currently undergoing the IPR and writing the AMP. The SWOT analysis will be held in conjunction with this advisory board meeting.

Strengths: • Faculty • Clincial Education • Student Outcomes Weaknesses: • Lack of space • Small applicant pool • Low minority enrollment • Departmental/Institutional support Opportunities: • Outreach and Marketing • Facilities/Resources • Community Partnerships • Recruit more clinical instructors Threats: • Competition from new PT programs and developing PTA programs • External accreditation standards, i.e., CAPTE limits on time for curriculum, APTA potential move to BS degree for PTAs • Professional issues, i.e., perception of PTAs by some PTs
