Presentation of Information of Curriculum Committee-
Norma Mercado, Department Chair for Medical Coding program presents information which is to be submitted to the curriculum committee. She provides the Award information for AAS Medical Coding which will pertain to future certificate degree and AAS Health Information Technology which will pertain to future associate degree. The information is from the Workforce Education Inventory Access and Update. In addition, she presents the proposed program summary for the AAS in Health Information Technology. It is the plan of the department to have the associate degree in place by Fall 2010.
The members are allowed time to review the material and after discussion, agree to submit proposal to the curriculum committee in February 2009 as written.
