UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS PROJECT (GOOGLE MAIL)

Currently Beta testing. Will test for 2 to 3 weeks. IT and IRT will be the first departments to go live while fine tuning processes and unresolved issues. A Roll-Out plan will be communicated as soon as it is time. Google responds that a “good amount of code is scrubbed when users try to enter it via HTML” to google Sites to help mitigate malicious code. Ed Terry is working on providing an ACC template/theme for users of Google Sites. We recommend using google Sites for web pages unless they contain perl or php Will report status at November meeting

TUTORIALS FOR NEW WEB TEMPLATES

Committee members were asked to test Edward’s new WEB templates at the September meeting. Geoffrey Schulmann stated that he had tested them and thought they were very well done and the documentation was easy to use. Edward will implement a plan to get web page owners to switch to the new templates

A package of material, prepared by Edward Terry was presented to the committee for review and feedback. The WAC goals for this year are to fully implement the new WEB templates; complete the domain restructure; have old web pages updated or deleted and the remainder moved to appropriate sub-domains.
