Meeting called to order by Cynthia Colovas, Advisory Committee Chair. Members greeted and introduced themselves to members.

Members reviewed minutes from May 9, 2014 meeting. The members unanimously voted to accept minutes as written.

New Business (a) HITT Quality Enhancement Plan FY 2014-16

Minutes
Norma Mercado presented information on HITT�s Quality Enhancement Plan for FY 2014-2016. Norma Mercado requested that members review the document and email her if they have any questions. Ron Modesty asked if the HITT program had goals toward student job placements after they complete the program. Norma Mercado replied that the HITT program has a job posting site online which students are directed to visit. Norma Mercado also mentioned that before finishing the HITT program, students work on their resumes as a class assignment. Norma Mercado also said that the Vice President�s office tracks student employment status after students graduate from the program. If the student cannot be found, the student is referred to Norma for her to track.

New Business (b) Curricular Changes

Norma Mercado noted that in the near future, the main change she will implementing is eight hours of cultural diversity training to the students before they complete their practicum. Cynthia Colovas asked if the four year program is being developed. Norma Mercado said that due to the 60-hour curriculum changes, she has not yet started working to establish the four year program. Norma Mercado presented some of the curricular changes that she will be implementing in the program. Norma Mercado said she would send those curricular changes to the members by email and would also do a one page summary so the members can review them. Norma asked that the members review those changes and to email her if there are any questions.

New Business (c) Student Data

Minutes
Norma Mercado presented the Student Data for HITT and Medical Coding programs. Norma informed the members that 45 surveys were sent out to students. Collection of data will be presented next spring 2015 after she receives employer surveys. Norma Mercado also presented the graduation numbers for summer 2014. For the HITT AAS program, 11 students graduated and three will graduate fall 2014. For the Certificate program, 13 students graduated summer 2014. Some of the members requested additional data reports from Norma Mercado for the next meeting in fall 2015. Donna Carl requested if the programs could track and provide student employment numbers. Donna Carl also asked if Norma Mercado could collect data as to how many graduates were planning to go to a four year program and where. Ron Modesty asked Norma Mercado for data regarding how many students actually go get their certifications after they graduate and also which certification those students get. Cynthia Colovas asked if the certificate program was still being eliminated. Norma said the paperwork to do so had not yet been processed but that she would be doing completing the paperwork soon.

Next meeting tentatively scheduled for next October 2015. Norma Mercado stated that the in the future board meetings will meet once a year. If additional meetings are needed, she will schedule as needed. Cynthia Colovas congratulated Norma Mercado for completing her Doctorate degree. Norma Mercado announced that Ellen Wuertz is retiring at the end of January 2015. Meeting adjourned. There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned by Cynthia Colovas.
