All in present were welcomed as members and introduced themselves.

Joseph Lewright expressed interest in the Chairman position. Debbie Menz made motion fro Jo to be Chair, Mike Mcmasters seconded and all were in favor. Debbie Menz expressed interest in the Co-chair position. Mike made motion to have debbie as co-chair, John Borek seconded all were in favor.

Minutes were presented to all members. Joseph Lewright asked question about the purpose of the 60 hr rule change, and what was changed for clarification. Thomas Bragg explained the results of the meeting. Mario Malacara made motion to approve minutes, Bryant Evans seconded all were in favor.

The new website was shown on the screen. Introducing the committee to the new job board and its availability. Mario suggested us to have a resume page for students to post also.TJ said he will work on it. Different parts of the site were shown to the group. All supported it and liked the design.

We are not getting any high school students. There is only one program at aisd that is functional and that's at Reagan. We also seem to have a high attrition rate in our classes from the basic to advanced. We seem to have a lack of graduating students these last few semesters. John said we should have a career day here at Crockett like we once did and get some cars and the students involved. Debbie said do you have any posters or any kind of signage to let them know. John said we need to get the SATA virtual spraygun set up for the career days. But should draw some attention to the students. Bryant said that he would try to find one. Does ACC have any plans for having Autobody up north in the round rock. No we don't have any plans the only plans that seem to be in the works is the possibility of having a shop in Southeast Austin where land should be bought using the last bond money. There are buildings available at Riverside there were given to the technology department's however there is no money to renovate them. We also have the option of finding a shop is closed down in leasing the space for classes. One way to spark more interest is by our new website and Students suggested a Facebook page. John suggested we show W-2s from some of the techs that work in the shops. We could take them to the area counselors of the high schools and show the students that you can make a lot of money in this industry. Somehow we need to change the perception of the industry being a dirty job that doesn't pay much. They need to know that a job is going to be available for them unlike getting a four-year degree from college. We need to get a survey of the area shops of what they pay their text to get a true understanding of the area industry. Aaron we should each go to a couple high schools and talk to the counselors are present information to them and to the students to start getting some interest so we have more students coming into college. I can get a list of the area high schools for you. If we could get students and jobs as soon as they come in to school we would have better retention of our students and they would learn faster and learn better.
