Mike Midgley chaired this meeting. Proposals were presented to bring ACC into compliance with the ACC requirement to include a college success course in academic plans by fall 2015, and to bring plans into compliance with the 42-Hour Core Curriculum. While department representation was encouraged and welcomed, proposals presented for these two reasons did not require the presence of a department representative at the June 19th meeting. Proposals were reviewed as ‘Information Only’ items. Mike advised the committee the General Studies in Liberal Arts AA was initially only approved for reverse transfer. Plan includes 42-hour core plus 18 hours of coursework. Effective fall 2015, plan would be presented in alternative format in catalog 2015-16. Revise Award General Studies in Liberal Arts – AA Jorge Lynch proposed approval of the AA with a title change to General Studies AA; second by Clark Peterson. Motion approved.

David proposed award revisions to remove and replace expired Business, Government, and Technical Communications courses. Revise Awards Business and Government Communications Certificate Social Media Communication Specialization AAS Social Media Communication Certificate Technical Communications Certificate Gaye Lynn Scott moved to accept proposed revisions; second by Jonathan Buckstead. Motion approved.

Mary proposed revision of the Information Technology – Applications Specialization AAS replacing PSYC 1100 with EDUC 1100, replacing ITSC 2364 with ITSC 2264, adding ITSC 2339, and moving ITNW 1325 within the plan. Gaye Lynn reviewed proposed changes to the Creative Writing AA. Motion approved.

Regina proposed modification of CTMT course information. Modify Courses CTMT 2232 Principles of Computed Tomography (2-2-0) – updated non-course prerequisite to accurate credential name (ARRT instead of AART). Added published notes. CTMT 2236 Computed Tomography Equipment and Methodology (2-2-0) – updated non-course prerequisite to be accurate for credential (ARRT instead of AART). Added published note. CTMT 2460 Clinical-Radiologic Technology/Science – Radiographer (4-0-24) – updated non-course prerequisite to reflect accurate credential (ARRT instead of AART). Committee approved.

Ron reviewed the recent Core 2015-16 as approved on 5-22-15 and noted four-hour and five-hour language courses are not included in the Core. The Component Area Option allows greater flexibility for students. ACC submitted 26 courses for inclusion in the 15-15 Core. THECB approved course additions are: BIOL 1414, BIOL 1415, HIST 2311, HIST 2312, HUMA 1315, EDUC 1100, EDUC 1200, EDUC 1300, HIST 2311, HIST 2312. ACC will submit an additional appeal.

Revise Corequisite: RNSG 1413. RNSG 1161 Clinical-Nursing-Registered Nurse Training I (1-0-4) – Revised Prerequisites to: RNSG 1160 and RNSG 1413. Regina explained proposed changes to DMSO 1261. Modify Courses DMSO 1261 Clinical - Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Sonographer and Ultrasound Technician DMS Clinical II (2-0-12) – changing contact hours to 2-0-12; was 2-0-8. David proposed Biotechnology AAS addition of EDUC 1300, and Level I Certificate updates. Joann Kroll provided INSS.002 and INSS.004 forms for revision with intent to collect more information on substantive change. INSS.002 Program Revision/New Program Approval Form Revision (Bailey Lathem) INSS.004 Program/Award Expiration Form (Bailey Lathem) Committee suggested forms may need to be separated (one for New Programs and another for Program Revisions), perhaps having the Revision form with the New Program portion at the bottom of the form, and making the forms interactive. Joann will return the form changes to a future meeting.
