Joann reviewed the SACSCOC requirements ACC must follow before implementing new programs or locations with programs which exceeding 25% or 50% at a particular location. Joann provided dates by which departments must notify her office depending upon the desired implementation semester. Sandra discussed revisions of course prerequisites adding BIOL 2404. The department will continue to accept BIOL 2304/2121 for the next five years. Revise Award Vocational Nursing Certificate Level 2 (43 SCH) – replaced BIOL 2304/2101 with BIOL 2404. Lori Friedman requested approval of changes to CE Landscape Design Level 1 Certificate. Approved. Evelyn Rosas presented the new CE Level One Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture. Evelyn provided the committee with an overview of how the program was being offered at EGN campus. Membership Appointments by CEA President – changing appointments to two-year commitment. Gaye Lynn reported this topic has been moved to employee groups for review/discussion. Curriculum and Programs Committee Manual Subcommittee Report – Clark Peterson reported the working document will be distributed to members for review. Matthew Daude reported that his subcommittee on the scope of curriculum/program review would conduct a survey of institutional units that plan or implement programs and curricula. Erlene proposed three course revisions to align with the Academic Course Guide Manual. Courses will be included in the ACC's request for additions to the 2016-17 Core course list. James described the proposed Medical Device Technology program explaining its will prepare students to serve as paraprofessionals in support of biomedical engineers. Industry advisory members meet serve as faculty in this program area. Saad Eways will lead this program.
