a. AAS degree curricular maps-Norma Mercado stated that the accreditation process for HITT program would probably take 6 months to a year to complete. She has been working on the paperwork and application.
b. College update-Eileen Klein announced that the Round Rock campus would be open on July 22, 2010 and that the work at the Highland Mall campus would probably take 2-3 years before it will be complete.
c. Community proposal-Seton Network-Donna Carl announced that Seton will be converting to Shared Billing Centralization within the next 18 months. She announced that this huge shared model will eliminate jobs. Donna Carl stated that HR at Seton will be reaching out to HIM areas to develop and identify six individuals pursuing coding careers to go through a six months training at the hospital to use the new model. Individuals will have to have a Coding Specialist Certificate. Donna Carl asked that ACC let her know how they could support the search for qualified individuals.
Eileen Klein said that Norma Mercado would have to look at the internal organization regarding staff and needs and would get back with her to discuss this need.

Minutes
Kirk White reported that the federal government was considering hi-tech initiatives by providing grant stimulus funds to five regions to support individual electronic record converts. Kirk White said this program would have money for training, money for administration, and suppose to train over 300 people in two years. He said training is starting late fall or early spring. The program is requiring that colleges that do the training have HITT accredited programs. Kirk added that for now, ACC is part of the IT expertise until the accreditation is complete for the HITT program. Kirk said he would have more information and updates at the next meeting.
Ronald Modesty inquired about new potential members to the board. Norma Mercado said she had a new person from St. Davids that would be attending the next meeting.
