Carolyn stated Math task force identified default courses for the core curriculum options as directed for the Guided Pathways initiative. Selections lead to a revised Mathematics AS award plan. Revise Award Mathematics AS – updating Math restricted electives (footnote 4) and Restricted electives (footnote 6); remove expired courses MATH 2405 and MATH 2454; add MATH 2305 Michelle Fitzpatrick moved to accept the revised Mathematics AS; second by Gina Swearingen. Approved. Carolyn continued with request to revise prerequisites in MATH 2413 Calculus I course. Modify Course MATH 2413 Calculus I (4-4-0) - revising prerequisite to ‘MATH 2412 with minimum grade C; OR satisfactory scores on both the ACC Mathematics Assessment and Higher Level Placement Tests.’ Jorge Lynch moved to accept revised MATH 2413 prerequisites effective fall 2016; second by Clark Peterson. James discussed proposed changes to Anthropology AA and Archaeology AS to conform to the Guided Pathways initiative. Revise Awards Anthropology AA – revised and re-ordered footnotes, moved courses between semesters Archaeology AS – revised and re-ordered footnotes, courses re-ordered by degree of difficulty and to equalize hours in semesters. ANTH 2373 removed from plan. ENGL 2311 removed from plan and replaced with Social Behavioral Science course. James Friedrichsen moved acceptance of award plan changes; second by Carol Hawk. Approved. Post-meeting note: the Social Sciences Task Force decided that their members need a more extensive review of the proposed changes to the Archaeology AS award plan. Therefore, the approved revisions were rescinded and the current 2015-16 Archaeology AS award plan will be provided in catalog 2016-17 catalog. See June 17, 2016 Curriculum and Programs Committee meeting minutes.

James discussed changes to the Economics AA to conform to the Guided Pathways initiative. Revise Award Economics AA – Math sequence changed; add option of MATH 2415 or foreign language in semester IV Reed Peoples moved to accept Economics AA award revision; second by Clark Peterson. Approved. Post-meeting note: the Social Sciences Task Force decided that their members need a more extensive review of the proposed changes to the Economics AA award plan. Therefore, the approved revisions were rescinded and the current 2015-16 Economics AA award plan will be provided in catalog 2016-17 catalog.
