Update – building Ground breaking for the Veterinary Technology building will be October 11, 2016 form 10 am to 11 :30. We will be sharing the building with Continuing Education Sustainability Agriculture. The building will have space kennel space for 12 dogs, twelve cats, a few cattle and a few horses. Sustainability will have their • own animals. Once the building is opened we will increase our cohorts to 24 students per year. Expected completion is spring of 2018.
• b. 10 years limit on Pre-requisites for Math and Biology we will keep.
• c. We need new committee members. The AVMA likes to see committee members from LVT’s to Veterinarians. Sara will send out email to prospect members to increase the committee membership.
d. Update Area of Study session of the about 1800 students who signed up for the Health Sciences Area of Study about 90 students showed interest in the Veterinary Technology Program.

a. Ground breaking October 11, 2016 10 a.m. to 11:30 at the Elgin Campus next to the green house.
b. Graduate pass rate. We graduated our first class of 8 students this past May, all took the VTNE, 6 passed the test on their first attempt. All 8 are currently working in the field.
c. Partnership with Continuing Education Veterinary Assistant program. We recently signed an agreement for two classes the Medical Terminology and Pharmacological Math courses that can be converted from continuing Education credit to college credit. Elizabeth Warren would like for more classes to be converted to credit courses. A meeting will be planned for later between Veterinary Technology and the Veterinary Assistant program
