This discussion was deferred until January 30, 2015. Mike Midgley identified three key issues to be discussed: 1. Requirement for student success course in all degree plans. 2. Continued ACC requirement for Speech course in all degree plans. 3. Decision on adding PHYS 1300/EDUC 1300 to Core Component area option (6 hour requirement). Presentation of additional information on Discipline Assessment Cycle Committee Recommendations and Resolutions • General Education background (the history and framework of the gen ed requirements at ACC) • The oral communication and written communications gen ed rubrics • The student learning outcomes for EDUC 1300/PSYC 1300 and for the SPCH courses • The feasibility of EDUC 1300/PSYC 1300 being in the Core Curriculum • Information regarding Speech and Writing requirements for high schools; in other words, do all high school students in AISD and surrounding districts have to take a Speech and/or Composition course. • The requirements of other area colleges, with regard to Speech and Writing • The proposed revisions to AR 1.04.012 • The ACAP for student success goals that was previously done (student version on 7/26/2013; faculty/staff version on 8/2/2013)

Add Course DSAE 1261 Clinical-Diagnostic Medical Sonography/ Sonographer and Ultrasound Technician-DMS Clinical II (2-0-12)   Modify Course DSVT 2461 Clinical - Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Sonographer and Ultrasound Technician-VT Clinical II (4-0-16) – title numbering correction from ‘Clinical-Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Sonographer and Ultrasound Technician-VT Clinical I’ to ‘Clinical-Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Sonographer and Ultrasound Technician-VT Clinical II’; revising corequisites from ‘DMSO 2245 or DSAE 2235 and DSVT 2300’ to ‘DMSO 2230 or DSAE 2255, DSVT 1291 and DSVT 2335.’ Regina explained that DSAE 1261 had been omitted from the 60-hour conversions and should be added to the inventory. The second request was for a modification of DSVT 2461 to specify corequisites. Jonathan Buckstead moved to add DSAE 1261, and to approve the DSVT 2461 corequisites changes; second by Carol Hawk. Shirin Khosropour moved to accept revised plans: Automation, Robotics and Controls Technology Certificate, Electronics Technician Specialization Certificate, Nanoelectronics Manufacturing Technology Certificate, Power Technology Specialization AAS, Power Technology Specialization Certificate, and the Renewable Energy Specialization Certificate, Utility Lineworker AAS, Utility Lineworker Certificate, and Lineworker Marketable Skills Award; second by Mary Kohls. Approved. A second discussion was focused on the Engineering Technology Certificate and whether the mathematics requirements were sufficient. Alberto indicated that the math courses where the same as those approved in September 2014 for the 60-hour Engineering Technology AAS. Reed Peoples moved to accept the proposed Engineering Technology certificate plan; second by Shirin Khosropour. Approved.

NEW AWARD AS Geography Add Course GEOG 2389 Academic Cooperative in Geography (3-1-5) Sanford and Mary Beth introduced the new AS Geography award and explained the differences in existing AA Geography and the proposed AS. Committee asked if ACC would continue to offer both AA and AS. Decision was made to collect data on number of graduates, etc. before making a decision to remove AA. Reed Peoples moved to accept the new AS Geography with changes to introductory statement 'All courses must be completed with minimum grade C'; and a credit hour adjustment to semester IV Component Area Option to 3-4 hours. Second by Mary Kohls. Approved.

Ron began a discussion on the recommendation to add courses to CORE, and the topics under item 2 in this agenda but meeting was closed and a continuation scheduled for January 30, 12:00P-1:00pm, room 301.0/HBC.
