• Program Accreditation Site Visit Fall 2015 – Passed with flying colors. We are good to go for another 5 years. • Program Changes Faculty/Staff – One new Addition. Margo Padron-Padilla is the new Clinical Lab Coordinator. We have several new Adjunct Faculty members and are looking to enlarge our pool in the near future. Clinical – A. We have lost our APD affiliation agreement, possibly due to recent current events. We are looking to replace that with another option in the near future. B. O.R. Rotations. C. EMT – We have added 25 more seats so we now total 85 seats per semester for EMT. D. Misc. – We have added 15 Microsoft Surface Tablets that are proving to be invaluable. • Curriculum A. SB 497 - 60-hour rule changes (Update) – This went into effect Fall 2015. Our card courses are now recommended and not required. Enrollment in these classes has decreased. B. Community Paramedic Programs – Becky Brock – Possibly looking to offer a certification. MIH – Mobile Integrated Health Care. They talked about different programs and what everyone else was doing but no one was talking about ‘education’. Community Healthcare Provider Certificate is what most people are obtaining in order to work. Dr. Nolet is the current president is working with the proper committees to put together standards. The name of the certification is being worked on but has not been finalized yet. Jones and Bartlett has a student Community Paramedic book coming out next year. The proposed course would be online, the best and most comprehensive curriculum comes from Australia and England. If we decided to do this, it would take about 1 to 1 and a half years to get up and running after we have surveyed the community. C. Paramedic Psychomotor Competency Portfolio (PPCP) - Don - National Registry now requires this of the students. They need to complete this in order to sit for the National Registry Exam. It is not just supposed to be for testing for the National Registry, but is also meant to show the students skills comprehension when applying for available positions. They will have access to this portfolio for the rest of their lives. Eventually we will be able to build a report from that portal for each student. D. Vance – We will move more and more of our documents to electronic versions. This can be done through FISDAP. We are moving along slowly and currently are working on having students enter their clinical paperwork through an online format. E. NREMT Testing Change – Cardiac Stations – static and dynamic, the oral stations of A & B. This will begin in the Spring. We will be preparing our fourth semester students for this change. F. CPAP – Don – We would like to include CPAP in our line of testing skills. We put together a task analysis. We want to implement this in the spring of 2017. We would test pediatric intubation in the second semester. We will vote on this at the end of the meeting.

Goals & Objectives
Presenter

Minutes
o Terminal Goals/Objectives – All skills and patient contacts have to be counted BEFORE they go into their practicum. Team Leads can only be counted in the practicum. The numbers that we will have to report to COA have been reduced because we found that our initial goals were not feasible. Becky – There was a lot of confusion online. COA had two different sets of standards and guidelines online. The team lead issue. You can only do team leads in the last semester. Adjustments have been made in the last few years and will continue to be made. o Clinical Goals/Objectives – These have remained the same as last time we met. We are going through the individual ones and will evaluate them. o Graduation Requirements – Statistics – Benchmarking: Fall 2015 – 100% requirements reached. Spring 2016 – 100% requirements reached.

Resource Surveys - 2015

o Student Responses/Analysis – We had all of our data corrupted. We were using Blackboard at first and realized that because of two critical updates, the data was corrupted. Now we have had a google form built and are using this. We will have the information by the end of the semester and will have it ready for the next meeting. o Graduate Responses/Analysis – These students have anywhere from 6 months to a year to complete. We received high scores for the professionalism and knowledge base. Consistent complaints had mostly to do with operations. We can discuss the importance of documentation. ATCEMS will set up a meeting with our faculty to discuss how to approach the subject of documentation. o Employer Responses/Analysis – Loved the assessments, the anatomy/physiology. Time management needs to be addressed. Employers love the professional nature of the students. o Faculty Responses/Analysis – Inconsistencies on whether faculty will get reimbursed for EMT specific C.E. Supplies, equipment and space – There are calls for more supplies, better equipment and more space. Our Laerdal equipment is now outdated and is no longer supported by Laerdal. We are working to have this problem resolved.
