Meeting & Agendas

Members Present: Joseph Barron, Thomas Bragg, Bryant Evans, Quinn MacGlashan, Rick Robinson Guest Present: Hannah Alford

Minutes were presented to all members. A quick review was made by Thomas Bragg of what was discussed during the last meeting. Bryant Evans approved it, Quinn MacGlashan seconded the approval, and all were in favor.

ACC had been asked several times in the past why we haven't done the I-CAR grant? The reason was because of the complexity and time needed to apply. Thomas Bragg went into exact details of what all the grant entailed. As a full committee we went over the part of the grant that had to be done by the committee. Bryant Evan filled out the evaluation and signed it. It was also brought up that there needed to be a way to track students that graduated and where they went to work. It was discussed that we were applying for this grant to get the equipment needed for our aluminum welding and repair class we added. Everything is set up for welding all that is needed is the equipment. It was brought up that instead of Miller welders, all shops use Car-O-Liner welders. The reasoning for choosing Miller was because of the price point. ACC will contact Car-O-Liner about getting any donations and other information about opportunities available.

April 21st at 9am to 1 pm at Round Rock Campus. It is also the same day as I-CAR meeting, but asked that a couple of shops could show. ACC got a total of 5 new students from the last event.

ACC switched to Spies last Thursday, so we would be up to date with the industry and what is currently being used in shops all over town. Thank you Finishmaster for making this happen! ACC wanted to make sure all shops knew what Finishmaster did for us.
