Vocational Nursing (Gretchen Riehl). Gretchen explained that Vocational Nursing will begin offering the VNSG program as a weekend program with no changes to courses. Weekend College affords individuals an opportunity to obtain a certificate or degree solely through attendance during the weekend. Brandon Whatley moved to support VNSG weekend program; second by Jorge Lynch. Approved. Master Syllabi Task Force Report (Ron Johns) – Ron presented the revised credit master syllabus template. The decision was made to post the draft on Google docs and allow folks to edit and comment on it. The goal is to have a final version ready for approval at the January 18 Curriculum & Programs meeting. The new expectations for the master syllabus would apply to next year beginning in the fall, though faculty teaching 8-week sections and in the summer would be encouraged to adopt the changes, and departments undergoing program review this year would be able to incorporate the revisions as well. Ron reported the task force realized that there is a need for distinct master syllabi guidelines for both dual credit sections taught off campus and continuing education classes. The Curriculum and Programs Committee charged the task force to continue its work on developing templates for the dual credit and continuing education courses. Approved. Master Syllabi Task Force Report topic will be first on the January 19, 2019 agenda. Minutes – October 19, 2018. Approved.
