Regina discussed the need for course capacity reduction. Modify Course VTHT 1345 Veterinary Radiology (3-2-3) – adjusting course capacity from 12 to 6 due to lab safety James Friedrichsen moved to approve VTHT 1345 course capacity change to 6; second by Cathy Angell. Approved.

Sandra discussed need for new associate of applied science in Vocational Nursing. Approval provides a seamless pipeline for students to further their professional qualifications. Existing Certificate 2 feeds into the proposed AAS. Add NEW Award – NEW Program Level Vocational Nursing AAS James Friedrichsen moved to accept new Vocational Nursing AAS with implementation fall 2020; second by Regina Swearingen. Approved.

Michelle and Maria discussed of advantages of changing the number of semesters required for each respective award. Changes may enhance students success rates. Revise Awards Cardiovascular-Interventional Technology Advanced Technical Certificate – revising award/program map description; updating courses, advising notes/footnotes Computed Tomography Advanced Technical Certificate – updating courses, advising notes/footnotes James Friedrichsen moved to accept Cardiovascular-Interventional Technology Advanced Technical Certificate award revision changing from two semesters to three semesters and revisions to the Computed Tomography Advanced Technical Certificate to add a second semester; second by Regina Swearingen. Committee Draft Functions, Responsibilities Update – deferred from October ASAC meeting, plan to present in November and then Shared Governance; if approved, will be implemented AY 2020-21 Action: Gaye Lynn will present recommended committee changes to ASAC. b. Advising Footnotes Style Guide Update – agreed at 10/16/19 C&P meeting, if there are more than two ‘OR’ course options, use a footnote; Office of Curriculum Development will implement catalog 2020-2021. Mojo Ticket submitted to change ‘OR’ placement in Program Maps to next line in front of second course option. c. Curriculum and Programs Checklist (by actions) Action: Postponed for discussion to future meeting. d. Introductions to Award Plans/Program Maps Style Guide (Common Degree Language) Action: Postponed for discussion to future meeting. e. Distance Education Online Programs review and approval process Action: Postponed for discussion to future meeting. f. Feasibility of equating WECM courses we already teach with ACGM Engineering courses with same learning outcomes if faculty credential issues could be resolved. Joe Brinkley discussed need for equating some workforce courses to transfer courses. Faculty would be held to higher qualification standards. Courses could be crosslisted within our schedules. 2. Virginia explained proposed Music course changes were ‘clean up’ issues. Expire Courses MUEN 1142 Jazz Choir Ensemble (1-0-4) – no longer offered MUSI 1160 Italian Diction (1-1-2) – already removed from award plan; does not easily transfer. Replaced by Opera Workshop course. Cathy Angell moved to approved course expirations; second by Regina Swearingen. Approved.

Brandon requested approval to expire this course. Expire Course EEIR 1309 National Electrical Code (3-3-0) – last semester fall 2019 James Friedrichsen moved EEIR 1309 expiration approval; second by Ron Johns (for Matthew Daude-Laurents). Approved.

James returned to present edits to an award and a course title update approved in October 2019 meeting. Revise Award – approved at 10/18/19 Curriculum and Program’s meeting Emergency Management AAS – updating HMSY 1391 course title to align with WECM and adding footnote with revised title: Topic ‘Homeland Security Assessment and Planning’ Modify Course HMSY 1391 Special Topics in Homeland Security: Transportation Security (3-3-0) – deleting ‘Transportation Security’ from master course title to align with WECM; expiring topic ‘Transportation Security’; adding topic ‘Homeland Assessment Analysis and Planning’; adding FDIL (Dual Independent Learners) fees. Effective 220U000. Ron Johns moved approval of Emergency Management proposal; second by Brandon Whatley. Approved.

Revise Awards Paralegal ATC – consolidating elective courses into one group Paralegal AAS – consolidating elective courses into one group James Friedrichsen moved to approve Paralegal revisions each with 11 elective courses to include LGLA 2337 and addition of prerequisite statement; second by Brandon Whatley.
