Troy proposed a new Welding Inspection Specialization AAS and stated the NDTE Certification will be a building block for the new award. He explained name changes to the Art Metals awards, course changes, and a revised introductory statement. The new award will be implemented in fall 2017. Susie Thomason, AVP Instructional Services, discussed Guided Pathways and showed the new award plan format. Susie explained the plan to map guided pathways awards and provide the maps to Curriculum and Programs Committee for review/approval. The Guided Pathways plans will include additional information such as common semesters, common electives, information on job entry/career opportunities for students, transfer information, and shown stackable credentials. Jane explained POFT 1231 title change, and POFT 1321 prerequisite update. Modify Courses POFT 1231 Numeric Keypad Applications (2-1-2) –The course materials have been updated for POFT 1231; therefore, the keyboarding skill prerequisite is no longer required along with the course title extension: Data Entry. POFT 1321 Business Math (3-3-0) – The prerequisite had to be updated because MATD 0330 is no longer offered-it should read MATD 0332 and the minimum score on the math portion of TSI is now 336 instead of 342 Jonathan Buckstead moved approval of POFT changes; second by Gina Swearengin.
