Student Representation on Academic Integrity and Grade Review Committees
Presenter
Lira Ramirez & Dorado Kinney
Minutes
Discussion: The committee discussed SGA representation in different review panels. Lira mentioned the need to have better support for students who are going into Academic Integrity, Grade Review appeals. Dr. Kinney would like for SGA representatives to have trainings in these areas, it was suggested that those trainings be held once a semester. The committee suggested that a survey be sent to students and faculty asking for feedback regarding the Academic Integrity and Grade Review process. Those completing the survey would have the option of being anonymous. The committee agreed that students who are going through these appeals should have an advocate present if requested. Decisions/Actions: 1) Survey Committee to be put together. Anyone that is interested in being part of this committee to contact Jocelyne Arizpe. 2) Survey Committee to review survey results. 3) Creation of multidisciplinary group comprised of faculty, staff and students. Student advocates to be available for students during appeal process.
