Communica4ons- Our students take 2 of these classes *Business and Tech Writing- how to write with clarity and brevity; Social Media Tools- how to market music via the internet, metrics, blogs, marketing. *Dance Department-Department Chairs talking with. Sensors movements trigger lights and sound. *Drama- already doing projects together, score etc. *Game Development, Animation, Graphics *Journalism *Music- David Jones Music Dept Chair- shared space 3-4 credit hours of applied music *Professional Photography *Visual Communications- web design etc.

New at MBPT / Highland Campus Update:

Heavily working of creative media, design studios. Problem: 1 studio short Kurtis: negotiation-scaled down to bare minimum and they scaled back one more. They thought we could record in ensemble room and counted it as one of the studios. Trying to get some space back with a minimum shell space with square footage to add studio . Meeting with Dean, Provost and VP to discuss 2nd medium studio. Large studios 1800 sq a and smaller ones 1⁄2 that. Several recording suites like studio C. Need the space- Students are having trouble completing their projects. 60 sessions last week. Over booked - Buying time in an outside studio. Ensemble space being designed to keep equipment..drum kits, lockers etc. amps, PA’s, acoustic piano. There is also a choral room which is actually an ensemble room. 14 dedicated rooms (3 are drum rooms) dual purpose teaching and practice rooms. 2 conference rooms off adjunct office. There will be security doors so there is a possibility to be 24 hour campus. 130 seat performance space strictly for Music and MBPT. Black box rooms with lights, electrical, sound equipment near freight elevator. 2 smart classrooms and 2 labs Sharing ADR and Foley studio with RTF Whole building is designed for performance, mixing space. There will be an outdoor performance space Studios designed by Sextant Group- Mark Valente

Performance and Promotion for Independent Artists II -Joe McDermott’s Class. Recording and promoting- DIY. Separate path from audio engineering. Possibly summer only class MUSC 1371 Name change: Modular Synthesis Electronic Music Performance, Performance class, Summer or weekend class. Sound Design-SFX for video games, film, TV. Instructor- Francis Preve. Sound for all things around us. Convergence of media. Blue Grass Ensemble- when there is space. Very successful. * We are open to any ideas for workshops. Bright Light Social Hour wants to do a workshop.
