Modify COMM 1316 News Photography I (3-3-1) – revised course description (2011-12 catalog revision) Add COMM 2302 Critical Issues in Journalism (3-3-0) Judy Sanders requested a COMM 1316 course description modification. James Friedrichsen moved to accept course description change. Second by Jonathan Buckstead. Approved. Judy continued with a new course request, COMM 2302 Critical Issues in Jouranlism. Charels Quinn moved to accept new course COMM 2302. Second by Cathy Angell. Approved.

Minutes - September 23, 2011 were approved with edits. Charles Quinn reported the Curriculum and Programs Committee Handbook revision is underway. The goal is complete the re-write by the end of fall 2011. Course Capacity Review. Mike Midgley announed the sub-committee had been formed. The sub-committee will meet beginning in October 2011; Mike will attend first meeting. The group will return to Curriculum and Programs Committee with recommendations.

EDUC 2301 Introduction to Special Populations (3-3-0) - Changed course description and published notes. Gaye Lynn Scott presented changes to EDUC 1301 and EDUC 1302 to revise course descriptions and published notes. Richard Cutler moved to accept revisions to proposed descriptions and published notes. Jonathan Buckstead seconded. Approved. Committee requested EDUC 1301 and EDUC 2301 forms be returned to the next meeting with course objectives clarified.

Revise ANTH 2373 Topics in Anthropology (3-3-0) – adding topic: Field Methods in Cultural Anthropology: Maya Culture and Environment James Sonderoth requested an additional ANTH 22373 topic, Field Methods in Cultural Anthropology: Maya Culture and Environment. Cathy Angell moved to accept new topic, second by Linda Smarzik. Approved.

Revise GEOG 2471 GIS II (4-3-3) – changing title from GIS II to Advanced Spatial Analysis in GIS and modifying description. James Sondgeroth presented a request to change GEOG 2471 course title and to modify the course description. Jonathan Buckstead moved to accept new course title, Advanced Spacial Analysis in GIS, and the revised course description. Second by Cathy Angell. Approved.

Modify ACNT 1391 Special Topics in Accounting (3-3-0) – Catalog 2011-12 changes: Retire Accounting Theory topic, effective 211F. Also added Course Prerequisite: ACNT 2303. ACCT 2302 Principles of Accounting II – Managerial (3-3-1) – changing course capacity to 24 Charles Quinn presented ACNT 1391 request to retire topic Accounting Theory, and to add a course prerequiste of ACNT 2303 to master course. Jonathan Buckstead moved to accept the proposal. Second by Regina Swearingen. Approved. Charles discussed a second request to reduce the ACCT 2302 course capacity from 36 to 24. Mary Kohns moved to accept course capacity change. Second by Regina Swearingen. Approved.

Expire BITC 1402 Biotechnology Laboratory Methods and Techniques (4-3-4) Award Changes. Revise to replace BITC 1402 with BIOL 1415. AAS Biotechnology Certificate Biotechnology ATC Biotechnology David Fonken proposed course expiration for BITC 1402. This course has been replaced by BIOL 1415. Gaye Lynn Scott moved to expire BITC 1402. Second by Linda Smarzik. Approved. Three Biotechnology award plans will be revised to replace BITC 1402 with the BIOL 1415 course. Gaye Lynn Scott moved to accept this change. Second by James Friedrichsen. Approved.
