Mike and Eileen provided background information on the development of the proposed Veterinary Technician program. Program will be implemented at the ACC Elgin Campus with a cohort of 10-15 students. Clinicals and hands-on training will be conducted at area veterinary clinics. ACC plans to implement the Veterinary Technician program in spring 2014. Introductory courses will begin at EVC in summer 2013. The current Continuing Education Vet Tech program will provide students for the proposed Vet Tech credit program. One faculty full-time position and one coordinator will be hired in the first year. The coordinator will develop clinical affiliation agreements with colleges/universities. Start up costs were also reviewed.
