Mike discussed changes to distribution of hours for HUSE 2471 and HUSE 2472. Award plans were modified to incorporate these courses. Modify HUSE 2471 Practicum I: Human Services – change hour distribution from 4 credit-1 lec-9 external to 4 credit-0 lec-12 external. HUSE 2472 Practicum II: Human Services – change hour distribution from 4 credit-1 lec-9 external to 4 credit-0 lec-12 external. James spoke of students needing additional problem solving time in ENGR courses and the need to add a one-hour lab. Modify ENGR 2301 Vector Mechanics – Statics – Adding one hour lab for new hour distribution of 3-3-1 ENGR 2302 Vector Mechanics – Dynamics – Adding one hour lab for new hour distribution of 3-3-1 Jonathan Buckstead moved to accept ENGR 2301 and ENGR 2302 lab hour and accompanying $50 course fee; second by Regina Swearingen. Approved.

Lisa proposed changes to PHRA courses to align them with the WECM. Modify PHRA 1313 Community Pharmacy Practice (3-2-3) – course description change PHRA 1345 Compounding Sterile Preparations and Aseptic Technique (3-2-3) – course title was Intravenous Admixture and Sterile Compounds, course description change James Friedrichsen moved to accept changes to PHRA 1313 and PHRA 1345; second by Regina Swearingen. Mike and Eileen provided background information on the development of the proposed Veterinary Technician program. Program will be implemented at the ACC Elgin Campus with a cohort of 10-15 students. Clinicals and hands-on training will be conducted at area veterinary clinics. ACC plans to implement the Veterinary Technician program in spring 2014. Introductory courses will begin at EVC in summer 2013. The current Continuing Education Vet Tech program will provide students for the proposed Vet Tech credit program. One faculty full-time position and one coordinator will be hired in the first year. The coordinator will develop clinical affiliation agreements with colleges/universities. Start up costs were also reviewed.
