1)
Continuing Business: Workforce Education Course Manuel
Mike Shoebroek
Manual written on 10th grade reading level, so students must take test to qualify for Level II certificate. Manual does not combine Brakes and Suspension, so college does not have option to teach these together. Students must be able to read, write and do some math to take test for Level II certificate
2)
Other: 60 Hour Degree plan
Mike Shoebroek
New degree plan is 60 hours. Students not as employable as under old plan. By adding Level II certificate, students can still take all courses that college was forced to take out of degree plan. These courses are a necessity to gain experience and knowledge to be a better technician. 14 courses included in certificate. Instructors must talk up new degree plan and Level II certificate. Also promote ASE Certification, whether certified of degreed. Cost is approximately $360 per course in district and double for out of district. Both certificate and degree plans qualify for Federal funding.
3)
Other: Budget
Mike Shoebroek
Money is available for replacement tools. It is Instructors responsibility to make known what is needed in way of tools, and students should be encouraged to speak up if tools are lost or broken. Instructors make shopping list of items needed, then email to Mike. A-Tech training boards needed. Also 2 tire machines @$36,000. Need to replace lifts at RRC- Mohawk brand not good. Mike to ask for second alignment machine for both campuses.
4)
Other: Membership Info/Updates
