•Add a Level 6 to the Writing Placement Chart. •Rewording of the footnotes for clarification. •Clarify what “effective date” by adding a footnote. •Taskforce is eliminating the writing objective chart (page two of the placement chart.) These scores have not been updated in years and can’t be used for placement. Students need an essay for correct placement. •All students regardless including those in Certificate waived programs will be required to take the essay. •Committee approved the recommendations. Decision/Actions: Caryn will send a clean copy for the chart to Yolanda.

The change to placement chart will require a programming change to XTOV. Decision/Actions: Yolanda will forward request to Linda Kluck and Kathy Galaviz.

The committee has been discussing whether the rule should include a statement that addresses modifications in the developmental sequence for students with disabilities. The taskforces agreed that a statement to that effect wasn’t needed. Decisions/Actions: Committee voted to not include that statement.

Feedback from Taskforces on 4.04.004; Continue review rules (4.04.004, 4.04.005, 4.04.006) Members will take to their taskforces for feedback. Committee recommended that taskforces determine if they needed to write a developmental plan for their program since the college is no longer required to have one. Follow-Up: Departments will discuss rules with task forces and will report at next meeting, Feb. 25, 2011.

Revision may be needed depending on interpretation of 4.04.004, 4.04.005 and 4.04.006.
