Meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Kerry Coombs. Dr. Coombs introduced the CVTEA site Members Dr. Bull, CVTEA chair of the committee asked everyone to introduce themselves, what their connection was to the committee and how long they have been on the committee.

Rachel Valentine gave an overview of how the accreditation process works and the time line. The report will be put together by Rachel Valentine; the draft version will circulate to the committee members for proofing and editing. Once it is approved the ROE will come from the AVMA for program comment with a 10 day limit. At the same time the program has an opportunity to report changes made to comply with recommendations, also with a 10 day time limit. The final report is presented to the CVTEA at the next meeting on April 22-24, 2016. Advisory Committee members spoke about their commitment to and support for the ACC Veterinary Technology program to strengthen the field with qualified veterinary technicians. To have a pool of qualified employees from which to select. Discussion regarding the lack of trained Veterinary technicians who have the skills to start to work immediately. The need to have more licensed Veterinary Technicians is critical. The ACC Veterinary Technology program can help fill the gap. The lack of appreciation for licensed Veterinary technicians and low salaries are reasons Vet Techs do not stay in the field.
