Blackboard Ally rollout up-date
Presenter
Sean Loraas
Minutes
Survey will be sent out to all that participated in the “pilot-program” the results will
determine whether we initiate full roll-out for the College, for the summer semester or
if another phase with a bigger group is required.
Participants in the pilot-program were General Education(EDUC1300) and Nursing
programs.
Talisia McHugh participated in Phase one “pilot”. “Not one of her students had any question about it. It’s very seamless, was not aware how not accessible PDF’s were,
all PDF documents had to be converted to a word document in order to meet accessibility standards.” ALLY is good, it gives the instructor step-by-step instructions
on what exactly needs to be done to make document accessible.”
Assuming everything goes there will be a larger roll-out in the summer and every
instructor in the Fall will have access

Calendy is a Non-accessible product that lives on-top of google calendar, it allows for greater options, can do more things with Calendy than google calendar.
Advising is using the free version now of Calendy. Students can schedule meetings
through Calendy.
Steve- I have been in touch with the company’s product team to make sure they
understood that he wasn’t asking if it is ADA compliant, which it is. Is Calendy screen
reader friendly. So far, no response.
As per Lara Niles, Calendy cannot be purchased for college-wide use, without I.T.
involvement and approval.
