1. Judy announced that Anne-Marie Thomas was this year's NISOD Teaching Excellence awardee. 2. Chris Arevalo reminded faculty to nominate texts. 3, Fall'19 schedule will be available for full-time faculty staffing in early Feb. 4. Judy reminded faculty that Engl 2342 is being removed from approved courses and will not be on schedule after this Spring. It has been replaced with other literature courses on each campus where it was removed. 5. Judy discussed the different options faculty have in grading and in curriculum: traditional letter grades or competency-based grading,in Comp 1 study of rhetorical patterns or argumentative approach.

ENGL 1302 Review Committee Report

Minutes
1. Revised Engl 1302 master syllabus presented by Comp 2 Review Committee chaired by Paula Robertson-Rose was overwhelmingly approved. It will be on Google docs this summer and in effect for Fall 19. 2. To further the Department's commitment to giving faculty options in developing curriculum , a sub- committee chaired by David Dettmer, was formed from Comp 2 Review Committee members to develop an option 2 for Comp 2 which will include a study of all genres. The pilot course will be taught by sub-committee members and offered first this Spring and Summer and will be piloted for several semesters before being brought to Task Force for approval.
