Sean discussed revisions to GIS awards caused by closure of GISC 2341 which THECB will no longer approve. Two courses will be added to program; ten courses will be modified; and GIS awards will be revised. An additional prerequisite was added to GISC 2479. Sandy explained that with discontinuance of GEOG 2471, the Social Science Task Force agreed to discontinue offering the GIS AA. A three-year teach-out plan was presented. Expire Award Geographic Information Systems AA Ron Johns moved to accept GIS AA discontinuance with a three-year teach out plan. The GIS AA will not be published in the 2013-14 ACC Catalog. Second by Regina Swearingen. Approved.

Gail discussed proposed changes to courses and awards under Visual Communication. Committee reviewed proposal by sections: 1. Revise 3D Animation Specialization AAS and 3 D Animation Certificate. Robert Bermea moved to approve; second by Ron Johns. Approved 2. Revise Graphic Design Specialization AAS and Graphic Design Certificate. Lyman Grant moved to approve; second by Shayla Andrews. Approved. 3. Motion Graphics Specialization AAS and Motion Graphics Specialization Certificate. Regina Swearingen moved to accept changes to the AAS; second by Jonathan Buckstead. Approved. The Motion Graphics Specialization Certificate will return to Visual Communication department for additional review/consideration. 4. Course changes/expirations. Joey and Gary proposed two new course additions, one modification, and two course expirations. Revised award plans were submitted which incorporated changes. Cathy Angell moved to accept the Building Construction Technology course additions/modifications/expirations and revised awards. Second by Ron Johns. Approved.

Judy Sanders discussed revising the course elective list under footnote 2 in the English AA to comply with substantive change rules. College departments were consulted and agreed to the inclusion of the courses included under revised footnote 2. Revise Award English AA Carol Hawk moved to accept the Semester I and IV changes to the Elective as proposed in the English AA. Second by Jonathan Buckstead. Approved.

Constance introduced proposed changes to the Mathematics AS plan. Changes proposed to footnote 4 to add MATH 2405, and to footnote 7 to delete \'\'COSC 1315 or another specialized programming language\'\', and replace it with COSC 1336 or COSC 1337. Marcus and Lyman Grant brought to the Committee the fact that DRAM 2336 had been used in lieu of a Speech course from the Core list since 1986 in the Drama AA. The current DRAM 2336 course does not meet general education requirements. Ron Johns shared with Marcus various options for correcting this. Revise Award Drama AA – discussion on DRAM 2336 as meeting Core Curriculum Regina Swearingen moved that this topic be referred to the General Education Core Committee. Second by Jonathan Buckstead; approved. Marcus plans to return to the March 22, 2013 meeting with a proposed solution. No changes were accepted for Drama AA at this time.

Regina presented a WECM required change to course hours for Pharmacy Technician course PHRA 1441. Modify PHRA 1441 Pharmacy Drug Therapy and Treatment (4-4-1) – Changing distribution of hours from 4-3-3 to 4-4-1 Jonathan Buckstead moved to accept PHRA 1441 course hour change from 4-3-3 to 4-4-1 to meet WECM. Second by Robert Bermea. Approved.

Pedro proposed changes to Surgical Technology courses to correct course hours, to reflect pre-requisites/co-requisites correctly and to modify plans to incorporate changes. Nan introduced revisions to Nursing Mobility AAS and Traditional Track AAS to become effective in fall 2014. The Nursing program changed the Mathematics requirement to specify MATH 1342 in the prerequisite semester.
